PHUYU-KUNA—a term that means “clouds” in Quechua—is a pictorial series that transforms the sky into a space of intimate contemplation and visual poetry. Through nebulous forms and soft atmospheres, the series captures the fleeting nature of clouds as symbols of emotional transit, memory, and transformation. Rather than offering a literal representation of the sky, these works lean into a sensitive abstraction, where each cloud becomes an ambiguous presence: at times luminous, at times melancholic, yet always in motion.
Painted in acrylic on Fabriano paper, the pieces explore a nuanced palette that moves between blues, greys, corals, and golden tones, evoking different times of day, moods, and weather. The soft, diffuse brushwork reinforces a sense of impermanence, inviting the viewer to pause and contemplate what is often overlooked in daily life. Each work stands on its own, yet together they compose an atmospheric score—each painting a fragment of a sky that never repeats itself.
