The TINKU series unfolds as a sustained exploration of encounter, grounded in the Andean concept of Tinku—a ritualized meeting of opposing forces governed not by violence, but by balance, reciprocity, and transformation. Across the series, pairs of monolithic, elongated forms face one another within expansive chromatic fields, establishing a visual language where distance, orientation, and color become active agents. These encounters are not moments of collision, but of suspension—intervals where tension is held, measured, and given form.

As the series progresses, the nature of this encounter evolves. What begins as a charged opposition gradually shifts toward calibration and recognition. The space between forms becomes increasingly significant: no longer a void, but a dynamic field of relation where difference is negotiated and sustained. Color operates as a system of dialogue—warm and cool, dense and luminous—while geometry provides a stable structure through which these forces can coexist without dissolving into one another. Each work builds upon the previous, extending the logic of Tinku as an ongoing, cyclical process rather than a singular event.

In its entirety, the TINKU series proposes a rethinking of opposition itself. Rather than seeking resolution or synthesis, the works affirm coexistence as a generative condition.
